David McNeill - Asia-Pacific

David McNeill writes for The Economist and other publications, including the London Independent and the Irish Times. He is the co-author of the just-published book Strong in the Rain, an account of Japan’s March 11th 2011 disaster. He has been in Japan since 2000.

He has been a board member of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan and chair of the Foreign Press in Japan. He is a co-ordinator of the electronic journal Japan Focus.

Mr McNeill holds a PhD in sociology and economics and has taught at universities in Ireland, the UK, China and Japan. He currently lectures in media and politics at Sophia University in Tokyo.

デイヴィット・マクニール

デイヴィット・マクニール氏は、The Economist誌でコントリビューターを務める他、London Independent紙、Irish Times紙などに寄稿を行っている。同氏は2000年から日本に滞在し、最近は東日本大震災について取り上げた著書『Strong in the Rain』を発表（共著）。

 また同氏は、日本外国特派員協会（FCCJ）の理事会メンバー、フォーリン・プレスセンター・ジャパンの理事長、オンラインジャーナル『Japan Focus』のコーディネーターなども務めている。

 マクニール氏は社会学・経済学の分野で博士号を取得。アイルランド、英国、中国、日本の大学で教鞭をとった経験を持ち、現在は上智大学でメディア論と政治学の講義を担当している。
