More than 60 participants—including government officials, policymakers, practitioners,  pharma heads and leading academics—came together for the Healthcare's innovation and efficiency agenda forum that took place on August 2nd in Singapore .The gathering formed part of The Economist Group's Healthcare in Asia initiative which brings together senior executives from across the healthcare stakeholder spectrum through meetings and research examining critical issues facing healthcare in the region. The Healthcare's innovation and efficiency agenda forum was supported by UPS.

GABRIEL LEUNG, UNDER-SECRETARY FOR FOOD AND HEALTH, FOOD AND HEALTH BUREAU, GOVERNMENT OF THE HONG KONG SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE REGION

Gabriel Leung was previously a professor in translational public health at the University of Hong Kong. His research and teaching focused on high-impact public-health issues in Hong Kong SAR, the mainland and East Asia.

SARAH MUTTITT, CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER, MINISTRY OF HEALTH HOLDINGS

As chief information officer, Sarah Muttitt is responsible for national alignment of health information-technology initiatives, with a focus on electronic health record solutions and their adoption by clinicians.

LEE CHIEN EARN, DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF MEDICAL SERVICES, MINISTRY OF HEALTH

Despite being the Deputy Director of Medical Services, Dr Lee currently sits on the Board of Health Sciences Authority. He was also awarded the Commendation Medal and the Minister of Health Award for Public Health for his many contributions in Asia.

SHANKAR KAUL, GENERAL MANAGER, SOUTH EAST ASIA AND INDIA, BAXTER

Shankar Kaul is the General Manager for South East Asia and India at Baxter in Singapore. He has over 20 years sales, marketing and general management experience in the healthcare industry in the Asia Pacific region.

RICK EVANS, CHAIRMAN, COLUMBIA ASIA

Rick Evans has been a manager in the health care industry for over 30 years. In 1995 Mr Evans co-founded Columbia Asia, a hospital company now operating 19 facilities in 4 countries, and growing.

CHOO ENG CHUAN, CHAIRMAN, SINGAPORE CANCER SOCIETY

Choo Eng Chuan was elected as the Chairman of the Singapore Cancer Society in 2010. Prior to this appointment, he was the Honorary Treasurer of the Singapore Cancer Society since 2008.

CHIH-LIANG YAUNG, PROFESSOR, ASIA UNIVERSITY

Professor Chih-Liang Yaung is a renowned academic and field expert in public health and healthcare administration in Taiwan. He has been recognised for his contributions to healthcare, health insurance policy and his academic appointments.
