THE SPECIAL REPORT - Business in India

This special report will be essential reading for all those who turn to The Economist for insight, ideas, and analysis into where the world is going. In particular, it will be sought out by people who do business with – or invest in – India's companies, funds or regions.

The world knows Indian business for its call centres and billionaires. This special report will argue that such a view is much too narrow and that India has become one of the most vibrant capitalist spots on the planet. A number of big Indian companies have acquired global heavyweight status and are increasingly operating abroad themselves. India's vast hinterland of small entrepreneurial firms contains some of tomorrow's giants.

Business in India will also take a snap shot of India's leading companies and entrepreneurs, examine hot issues such as family ownership, innovation and corruption, and try to predict how Indian firms will fare compared to their global peers.
